Ref 71 Victory Rally

Open call for community organizations/organizers

What: Come Plan the Referendum 71 Victory Rally. An open call inviting local LGBT and allied organizations and organizers to form a quick response for the passage of Referendum 71. Thanks to the community for making history this election day. 31 states have tried to win marriage equality on the ballot and 31 states have lost. We became the first state in the country to put legal protections for same-sex couples and the ballot… AND WE WON. Now it’s time to celebrate our historic victory. We also mourn the loss of Question 1 in Maine and want to show solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Maine, as others around the country have shown solidarity with our victory here. Seattle OUTProtest has called a community organizing meeting to discuss and plan out the Victory Rally and everyone is invited to attend.

Who: The Seattle OUTprotest coalition which consists of many community organizations. Special speaker Lt. Dan Choi has confirmed his attendance! More to come! Open to all organizations and community members. Come have your voice heard! From the SGN to WAFST, check out our website for updates on participating organizations.

Approve Ref. 71

approve Who knows how to protect Domestic Partnerships in WA state?  Not everyone.. that’s for sure.  It’s scary reading blogs and newspaper comments from users who are FOR and AGAINST Domestic partnerships and DON’T know HOW to vote.  If Ref. 71 gets to the ballot.. you have to APPROVE… it means you approve the bill that passed in lesgislation.  Easy right?  It’s up to us to educate folks how to vote for equal rights.  APPROVE Ref. 71!
